BLOGIVERSARY || THE STYLE FANATIC IS ONE!

Isn’t it unreal how time flies, I remember this day exactly one year ago, I hit publish on my very first post. I was excited at the same time nervous. I was thinking to myself who is going to read, view or even comment. Fast forward to now that was nothing to worry about. I’m really blessed by my audience, those who just stop by, those who share my post, does who comment and those who give me ideas and try to improve my content by sending messages. I appreciate you all really. I remember it took me 30mins to figure out a blog name, I had more than 15 listed on a paper unsure of which one to go for until I wrote the very last one, sent it to my sister to give her input on it and to cut the long story short. After some doubts and some encouragements The Style Fanatic was launched on this very day. I may not have a lot of followers but the few I have are really active and I love you all for that.
There are day’s when I get frustrated but your comments keeps me motivated and can be uplifting. So a big thanks to everyone.

When I started blogging I was trying to get ideas from other bloggers which didn’t help at all because when I looked back at the content I had created it didn’t scream originality to me. I saw it as another bloggers work, which made me a little dissatisfied. Anyways, after a month I wanted to be proud of my work and started creating original content all from my head and I can say I’m indeed proud of my work, that I am my own fan. At night I look back at what I’ve created check my blog religiously to see what needs improvement, adjustment and all other things related to blogging. I’m grateful really in this short period I’ve worked with a lot of brands and still working with a few at the moment

I’ve learnt great things from blogging.

Perseverance is definitely key, keep doing what you know how to do best regardless of who is watching, criticism doesn’t affect you unless you let it in, I’ve grown as well as a person, my confidence is an A+ and so is my negotiating skills. Also strangers are more likely to support you than friends, so be cautious of the friends you keep 'cos not everyone will be genuinely happy for you. Also, do not sweat the small stuff, progression is better than perfection.

To my audience

First of all I want to say a big thank you for all your support in all the different ways shown and I appreciate everyone even the anonymous. Also, all bloggers are not meant to dress the same way or provide the same content. That’s why there’s diversity in blogging, my niche is different from the other bloggers’ niche, so on behalf of my fellow bloggers I say to you all, respect our work and please don’t compare us to the next blogger. So we employ you to sit back, support us and enjoy what we provide because blogging isn’t easy at all neither is it a joke. Respect to my fellow bloggers. I’m here to inspire and motivate you through my blog.

Advice to my fellow bloggers

Be true to yourself, be real, unique and let your passion shine through your work and you’d be satisfied with you work regardless, don’t compare yourself to others ‘cos at some point trust me the pressure might get to you but know this, nobody knows how to do what you know how to do best so use your creativity well and don’t let social media kill it. Don’t accept every opportunity that comes your way because majority of the time most brands are trying to use us get what they need. So think twice before accepting any opportunity. Focus on your blog, better it for yourself and for your readers. For my style and Fashion bloggers you don’t need to break the bank to look good, recycle, try DIY’s, thrift if possible at the end of the day it’s how you wear it with confidence that matters. Don’t follow all the trends as they come and go. They say Quality over quantity when blogging but sweetheart in order to work with brands you need balance of both, so work on both and excel in what you do. The blogosphere is fun, so don’t put yourself in one box, expand your horizons, try new things that works for you not because everyone is doing it. Don’t be scared to be different, different is good. Success doesn’t come over night you need to work for it. It’s okay to look up to other successful bloggers but never put them above you and neglect yourself. Advertise your blog on all social Medias to reach out to more people. Do you stand out as a blogger? ask yourself what differentiates you from other bloggers as there are many bloggers out there. Anyways blogging isn’t easy just be you, create nice content, don’t plagiarize someone else’s work, don’t blog because you want to make money otherwise you’d be very disappointed as this thing take time. Be consistent, engage with your audience, pray, and then slay. Above all work hard, don’t forget why you started and stay humble.

What I hope to achieve this year

By God’s grace honestly, it’s to just create better content and improve the blog for my readers, work with more brands, collaborate with other bloggers and feature more people on my blog. So holla, don’t be shy and we’d talk. You never know what good will come out of it.
